The Academy
Dan Inosanto and Bruce Lee
The Academy is committed to provide the highest quality of martial arts training and instruction in a friendly positive atmosphere. Students of all ages and abilities with or without previous martial arts experience can learn to defend themselves, get a great workout, have fun and ultimately improve as individuals.
The methods taught at our school are drawn from several sources. The primary source of martial art learning derives from the Bob Breen Academy in London and the Inosanto Academy in Los Angeles. We must also give much credit to David Onuma of Combined Fighting Systems and Roger Brooking of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Dan Inosanto and Andy Nugent
The Academy has a strong base system which forms the core of the schools teachings. The base system consists of the martial art developed by the late Bruce Lee and handed down to his close friend and student Dan Inosanto known as Jun Fan Gung Fu. This is taught alongside the Filipino martial art of Kali, with its many sub-divisions covering both unarmed and weapon based combat. Muay Thai Boxing drills are also taught to develop power in the striking tools and for overall conditioning. Ground fighting drills from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Submission Wrestling give the student the skill and confidence needed to defend themselves on the ground should they ever need to do so.
By cross training in the different arts students begin to appreciate the martial arts of many cultures and start to see the valuable aspects of each one. Rather then limiting yourself to a single style we believe you should have the freedom to express your own personality through the martial arts.
